HMRC are adding links on its websites to useful videos of webinars for employers and businesses in relation to COVID19.
They contain information on issues for business including:
- the Coronavirus Job Retention Scheme
- refunding eligible Statutory Sick Pay costs
- furloughed employees
- the deferral of VAT and Income Tax payments
- the HMRC Time to Pay Scheme and more.
The videos give a useful, and easy, introduction to some of the key areas in which HMRC are supporting employers and businesses during these difficult times.
HMRC face criticism, quite rightly, where they are opaque in their dealings and haul taxpayers over the coals for not discovering information buried in obscure notices or statements of practice. It is only right that they receive credit when they embrace modern technology to disseminate guidance on the support they are giving during the COVID 19 pandemic through a variety of media.
