- The Chancellor has announced that the National Living Wage (the top rate of minimum wage payable for those aged 23 and over) will increase to £9.60 from April 2022.
- On 11 November 2021, regulations came into force which will require all care home staff in England to be fully vaccinated against COVID-19 unless a medical exemption applies.
- Key cases: in November the Supreme Court will consider the case of Harpur v Brazel (calculation of holiday pay for part-year workers) and the Court of Appeal will hear the case of Chell v Tarmac Cement and Lime on an employer's liability for a practical joke by one of its staff which caused injury to a contractor.
