News has broken in the last few hours that shopping centre giant Intu could go bust as it struggles to raise funds (it owns Lakeside and Merry Hill, amongst others).  The impact of the Coronavirus is unlikely to help recovery of distressed businesses on the high street as the population avoids public spaces.  Any potential investors or buyers have no way of knowing when it will be 'business as usual' again.

Intu was hit by some of the most high-profile retail failures, as more firms shut up shop after more online competition and problems paying business rates and increased wages.
